Football career

During his career, Faber was mostly associated with PSV Eindhoven, which he represented from 1992–2004,[1] with a total of 162 Eredivisie matches (six goals), being used by several coaches at the club during his spell.

He also represented FC Groningen (six-month loan from PSV, in early 1994), having started in 1990 at NEC Nijmegen, after which he spent another sole season with Sparta Rotterdam, then transferring to the first division powerhouse until his retirement at 32.

Faber gained one cap for Holland, appearing in a friendly against Mexico on 24 February 1998, which came during one of his most productive individual seasons at PSV (21 matches, two goals, although the club's only piece of silverware was the domestic supercup). After retiring, he began working as a coach: starting at FC Eindhoven in the second level, as an assistant,[2] he returned in 2005 to his main club, being charged with its youth side.

In the summer of 2010, Faber had his first head coaching experience, being appointed at FC Eindhoven.[3]
